The Story

Since I can not stand to see hungry dogs wherever I am, I always keep some dog foods on my motorbike. It does help to feed some strays that I meet on the road.

But most of Bali dogs like rice and chicken more than the factory-made food.

So, I have approached one local fast food outlet near my home. I asked them if they could keep all the left-over food which will be collected every evening.

In the morning, I will re-cook those left-over food and mix with rice. I put some spices as well and ensure that it was well cooked properly. I could make 10-15 portions everyday and go around to feed dogs. I start from my neighborhood and continue to another area in Ubud.

I know some people have told me that dogs can't eat fried/boiled bones. But seriously, they starve and rice + chicken with bones are better than nothing for them...

Since Covid Pandemic hit Ubud on March 2020, many places were closed. The fastfood outlet that I have relied on also had lost many of their customers, which quite affected the left-over food. Unfortunately, I also had to stop going around and fed the stray due to all the travel restriction and safety protocol.

Now, a year after, the passion and calling for caring my street friends are coming back again. Some of my previous "clients" -that's how I call them- disappears. Some are still in the same area and remember me. They are happy to see me again! I wish, with the help from you, together we can create a better and sustainable help for our stray friends in Ubud, Bali.
